The Name Game

I remember, years back when I first learnt about Dopplegangers in Gothic Lit.

The dude below's not a doppleganger, but he's got exactly the same name as me! Wonder what he's like? For one, he definitely looks a heck of a lot more Philly.

Cool. Or Creepy.

Any of you know people with exactly the same name as you?

A night with Hisaishi

Its amazing how much good stuff you find when you're trying to procrastinate from doing work. At least finding these beauts was a more productive use of time than opening and closing the refridgerator door. (Don't deny it, we all do it when we're stuck at home)

I managed to stumble upon these beauties recently - had been using Mich's imeen playlist for background music while working on the nevervending stream of assignments. Curiosity piqued, I decided to google imeen and hisaishi. Lo and behold, found these.

I guess the highlight is really the 2008 studio ghibli concert ("Celebrating 25 years of Studio Ghibli") video clips. I've always wanted to play in a concert where the audience could watch the corresponding movie clip in the backdrop. Isn't it wonderful to be able to play the music both the audience and you love? At least we've got something close to that in Xpose.

This is for the ponyo fans

A crowd pleaser, Totoro. Miyazaki actually appears at the end. To fans in the stadium, it must be like Disney fans meeting Walt in the flesh.

My wife's personal favourites, Porco Rosso and Kiki

The titular lead bears a remarkable resemblance (in mannerisms and, well stuff other than mannerisms) to a good friend of mine.

A lovely tale about a young girl learning to be a witch

Of course, if you are more acid jazz inclined these will be a treat too. Was thinking of buying this cd, but way way too ex.

Lastly, for the overt and closet techno-bengs and lians, heres a nice spin on ghibli tunes.
